• Lossless compression reduces bits by identifying and eliminating statistical redundancy, no information is lost
• Lossy compression reduces bits by removing unnecessary or less important information

Innovative solution

The solution is composed of 9 algorithms : 1 image codec, 2 image compression applications for mobile phones, 1 video and sound application, 1 animated image algorithm.The image codec algorithms have been implemented in a new image format : 4Di.The main objectives of these technologies are the optimization of data compression, with highly reduced compression/decompression times, high quality of the decompressed data, low compression ratios, compatibility with external applications.
