Technology

  • Biosourced active substance, already used in human health, coupled with small molecules groups via a 2 steps chemical synthesis è gives a multisite active substance.
  • Fast degradation of the metabolites in soils (<1 week).
  • Boosts antifungal activity on various strains : Z. tritici, S. sclerotinium, A. alternata, Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium solani.
  • Equivalence or superiority comparing to standard products (Bixafen; Tebuconazol), particularly on multiresistant strains.
  • Successful pilot on wheat in greenhouse on Z. tritici.

Market

  • Global fungicide market: $17 bn (CAGR +4% to 2029)
  • Worrying increase in resistance to conventional fungicides (including triazoles and SDHIs from 2022): search for new solutions.
  • Farmers and regulators are seeking more environmentally friendly products, including naturally derived fungicides, even if they are not classified as ‘biocontrols’.

Development status

  • TRL 5
  • Successful greenhouse pilot on wheat infected with Z. tritici.

IP

  • PCT filed in March 2024
