Technology

  • An innovative catalytic method for the general preparation of organosilicon compounds based on novel silylating reagents (tertButyl-substituted SilylDiazenes – tBSiD).
    • Extensive choice of silyl groups
      ex: Si = SiMe3, SiMe2 tBu, SiHiPr2, SiMe2(OEt), SiMe(OtBu)2, Si(OMe) 3
    • Thermally-stable
    •  Simple 2-step synthesis
  • Advantages:
    • High generality (> 140 examples)
    • Inexpensive catalysts (e.g. CH3ONa or tBuOK)
    • Ambient conditions (RT)
    • Short reaction times (< 1h)
    • Volatile byproducts (incl. N2)

Market

  • Applications:
    • Organic synthesis,
    • Polymer synthesis/upcycling,
    • Sol/gel process
