The formalization of the innovative project allows to submit to the partner establishment and/or to Lutech the valuable works so that they can accompany you in the choice of the best strategy of protection and valuation. It is a question of performing a synthetic document highlighting the following elements:

• Summary of the project

• Objectives of the problematic project whom(which) he answers

EVALUATION

Lutech studies the technico-economic potential of your project.
Objective:
1. Validate the eligibility of the project in a transfer towards the socioeconomic world.

2. Define the best strategy of transfer (to an existing company or in creation) and the actions of development in which Lutech can invest.

The analysis contains four dimensions:

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:

Objective: estimate the state of the technical development of the project and position this one with regard to the existing technical solutions or in development.

Methodology: bibliographical analysis of the state of the art

ANALYZE PI:

Objective: validate the possibility of creating one or several assets of intellectual property on the project and of defining the strategy of protection to be implemented certificate, know-how, software, copyright, drawing and model etc.)

Methodology: analysis of anteriority to establish the novelty and the originality of the innovative project, the analysis of patentability or other analysis bound to the strategy of envisaged protection.

SOCIOECONOMIC ANALYSIS:

Objective: position the project on the market and estimate its societal impact to define the possible outlets and rank them.

Methodology: Evaluation of the global volume of the market, the analysis of the applications the most promising and realization of a mapping of the market which addresses the project by positioning the existing technologies and in development, the main actors, the needs not there satisfied with regard to the most dynamic geographical zones.

LEGAL ANALYSIS:

Objective: validate the eligibility of the project in an investment Lutech by analyzing the freedom of exploitation.

Methodology: Analysis of the co-ownership of the project via a study of the modes of financing which allowed to end in the project and the operated relative contracts.

At the end of analyses made on every axis, the project manager reports his evaluation to the committee project which makes the decision to invest or not

INVENTION’S
PROTECTION

Writing and deposit of the intellectual property
Objective
• Protect the project of any forgery and be able to discuss it without risk with thirds

• Create or reassure one or several assets of intellectual property on the project to being able to set up a strategy of transfer

• To assure a monopoly of exploitation and to generate future income (license agreement, transfer of an intellectual property right …)

Lutech, after evaluation of the concept, works with the project leader to protect its invention and/or its creation. It is imperative not to reveal the recoverable(valuable) results(profits) before this stage. The assets(active persons) of intellectual property which will be created depend on results(profits) to be protected: the patent(certificate) protects the technical innovations, mark the image of the project, the drawings and model the esthetics of a product, etc.

It is also possible to transfer a know-how. This one must be then formalized (for example via the envelope Soleau) and kept secret.

TECHNICO-ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT

Lutech invests and accompanies the carrier(s) of project in the acquisition of a proof of concept necessary for a transfer of the project towards a company developer.
Objective:
1. Strengthen the invention or the know-how and launch an action plan (financing of staff, consumables, equipments) to realize a prototype or obtain quite different type of proof of concept

2. Accelerate the development of the project to maximize the chances of transfer: obtain new technical results or improve the existing results, identify the main markets to send, to strengthen the intellectual property bound to the project, etc.

3. Identify the risks and the opportunities of an investment for Lutech

Lutech, in connection with the project leader and with the potential help of an expert of the domain, sets up a specifications to determine the main tasks to achieve to obtain a proof of concept allowing a transfer of the project. A company, in conformance with potential graduate (license holder,laid-off employee), can be associated with this stage.

A program of maturation is so formalized, highlighting the global market, the existing rival technologies, the addressable market by the technology, the already obtained results and the objectives to achieve according to the strategy of transfer which is envisaged (creation of start-up or licensing to an existing company). The tasks can be realized by the project leader and his team, or via the subcontracting. Consumables, equipments and expenses of PI are paid by Lutech.

Targets, costs, duration, ready for delivery and constraints to be respected (Go / NoGo) are also clarified.

OF THE INNOVATIVE PROJECT

Definition and deployment of the marketing strategy

After analysis of a project innovating by Lutech, a strategy of transfer is defined, according to the technico-economic positioning of the concept, the elements of intellectual protection and the possible expectations of the project leaders. It is a question of determining if the transfer will be made for the benefit of an existing company or in a start-up in creation.

Promotion of the project with an existing company

After realization of communication mediums to describe the innovative project (synthetic index card of the project, the descriptive video, slides of presentation, etc.), Lutech identifies industrialists prospects, determines the actors to contact first and foremost and contacts them to qualify their interest to the proposed innovative project.

Lutech also participates in congresses and business lounges to meet industrialists and present them his wallet of opportunities of licensing.
